Originally from Mississippi, Chris studied drama & movement at NYU's Tisch School of the Artsin the Experimental Theatre Wing. Since graduating in 2013, Chris has been focusing on performance, movement, & education.
Chris has performed at La MaMa (Undefined Fractions / Loco 7) , Dixon Place (Alexa Salame / Trevor F. Salter / Jose Rivera Jr.), The New York Int'l Fringe Festival (Ali Perkins / Sarah Blush), The Martha Graham Studio Theatre (Sarah Berges Dance), Daniel's Spectrum (Toronto / Rutas Festival), as well as in several films & music videos (Bangor Films // “Spiderhands” by Alagoas).
Chris's has studied a variety of performance & movement practices including ballet, modern, Buffon / clowning, Grotowski physical acting, yoga (200-hour CYT), Aikido, & others. Chris teachers both children & adults; he currently teaches middle school Theatre (5th - 8th grade) at Success Academy Harlem North Central.
The Organism That Persons is Chris’s creative / queer persona / performance style through which he currently creates work. By re-casting person as a verb, this work seeks to highlight the malleability of the human condition & to find new manifestations of this flexibility.
